DISCIPLINARY BACKGROUND

Why study the Master in Internet of Things?

With the new Internet revolution, we are moving from the interconnection of people and their mobile devices to the interconnection of all things, that is, technological evolution is leading us to an interconnection of all everyday objects, both at home, at work and in city services. All this thanks to a set of easily accessible and low-cost sensors, devices and communication protocols that are now available. As a result, objects are becoming part of the Internet, generating a new economy with a wealth of opportunities for business and for people's well-being.

It is estimated that by 2025 there will be more than 25 billion interconnected objects, which means that the Internet of Things (IoT) will continue to revolutionize companies, their processes and the way they relate to customers. Taking advantage of the new possibilities will be achievable only if there are specialized professionals who can lead this change in organizations.

The Master in Internet of Things of the UAEH is oriented to train future IoT managers in organizations, as well as to generate future entrepreneurial leaders, with a practical mastery of all phases of development of IoT projects, i.e., the detection of needs and value proposition according to new business models, the design of infrastructure and devices to connect, capture, transmission and secure storage of information, as well as the generation of value through the analysis of large volumes of data.

This master's degree has a laboratory specialized in IoT, where students can develop their prototypes and experiment, according to a methodology based on the solution of real problems. They will be guided by a teaching staff that has been formed by renowned professionals from the local, national and international environment, as well as from the corporations associated with this program, such as CISCO, Intel and others.

With all the knowledge, skills and values developed by the students of this master's degree, they will be able to lead IoT projects aimed at generating new business models, with products and services that increase the productivity of companies and improve the quality of life of people.

To train teachers in Internet of Things with a solid background of knowledge, skills and attitudes of the discipline from a multi and interdisciplinary perspective for the detection of needs, design, implementation and validation of projects that contribute to the solution of technological problems associated with market segmentation, business models and areas of technology transfer at state, national and international level.
In the year 2023, the Master's Degree in Internet of Things is a quality educational program, based on cutting-edge Lines of Knowledge Generation and Application and consolidated academic bodies, recognized for the impact of its graduates in the state, national and international labor market, which contributes to the development of the discipline, the state, the region and the country with professionals trained in the development, marketing and management of applications and value propositions using the technologies that make up the Internet of Things.

Innovation and business with the Internet of Things.

  • It includes the most current advances regarding components, elements and interactions in the Internet of Things, including sensor networks, communication elements, ad hoc networks, information storage, and the generation of project proposals that generate value or new companies that enhance the use and application of the Internet of Things. It has an impact on innovation in emerging technologies and entrepreneurship training.

Quality of life and services with the Internet of Things.

  • Responsible for the development of applications focused on improving the quality of life of people with projects that directly impact family life inside a home, or in the social environment through the impact on smart building projects, urban mobility and offering valuable services for citizens, businesses and governments.
