Semblanza

He holds a degree in Computer Systems Engineering from the Instituto Tecnológico de Huatabampo in Sonora, Mexico. He obtained a Master's degree in Computer Science from the National Center for Research and Technological Development (CENIDET) in Cuernavaca, Morelos. D. in Artificial Intelligence from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia in Barcelona, Spain. During his professional career Felix Castro has worked in different projects with various software development institutions and the government of the State of Hidalgo; highlighting his work as head of department of development and maintenance of systems in the Electoral Institute of Mexico City, serving as technical leader of the Information System for the Preliminary Results in the elections of 2000.

Since 2001 he has been a professor-researcher at the Center for Research in Information Technology and Systems, CITIS, of the Autonomous University of the State of Hidalgo (UAEH), Mexico. Felix Castro is a Member of the National System of Researchers-CONACyT Level I and President of the Mexican Society of Artificial Intelligence, SMIA, is a member of the Research Group in Soft Computing of the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, of the Consolidated Academic Body of Intelligent Computing of the UAEH. His lines of research include: Artificial Intelligence, Soft Computing, Data Mining, Automatic Rule Extraction Algorithms, Dimensionality Reduction in Complex Systems, Fuzzy Logic, e-Learning and its relation with Artificial Intelligence. Felix Castro has supervised about 15 PhD, MSc and BSc theses, has published about 50 articles in indexed journals, book chapters, international and national conference papers, as well as technical research reports.
