Elena Poniatowska honored at FUL 25
"A sea of love, beautiful and great", with this exclamation, which recalled Rosario Castellanos, the writer and journalist Elena Poniatowska described to those attending the tribute for her 80 years of life, conferred in the framework of the 25th University Book Fair of the Autonomous University of the State of Hidalgo.
Sharing anecdotes with those present, the author of almost 40 literary works, including novels and short stories, spoke of the transcendental role that youth plays today.
As part of the tribute, the author received a scroll of institutional recognition for her more than 80 years of life and half a century as an outstanding writer and journalist from the hands of Rector Humberto Veras Godoy.
HélŠne Elizabeth Elizabeth Louise Amelie Paula Dolores Poniatowska Amor, born in Paris, arrived in Mexico at the age of 9. In 1954, at the age of 19, she began her journalistic career, working at the newspaper Excélsior, and moved on to Novedades where she remained for many years. In 1963 he published his book of short stories Lilus Kikus.
