Why study the Pediatric Nursing Specialty?


The pediatric nursing specialty contemplates in its teaching the conceptual and methodological tools based on the scientific knowledge available according to the needs of each moment, for the development of professional competencies that will guide their practice. The graduates of the pediatric nursing graduate program will be incorporated into national, state and international health policies with various programs that reduce maternal, neonatal and infant mortality, monitoring perinatal health indicators that affect the reduction of maternal and fetal risks and therefore the complications that compromise the health status of children, in addition to meeting the demands of pediatric and neonatal health as vulnerable groups with a focus on promotion and specific protection in their biopsychosocial spheres, integrating the family and community. Counting with specialized human resources to cover the labor demands of the health system.



To train professionals with solid ethical and humanistic support, with the ability to join work teams to analyze, direct and solve the health problems of the pediatric population of the state, the region and the country with legitimate social commitment, as well as to be leaders in the development of research projects on children's health problems.
To train leaders in nursing with postgraduate studies based on competencies, capable of solving the challenges of the current and future environment in the health and illness of children in their different stages of life, with competitiveness in the national and international spheres.
GENERAL OBJECTIVE

The Specialty in Pediatric Nursing integrates competencies for the care of healthy or sick children in their growth and development, based on knowledge of the pathophysiology of different health problems that put the infant's life at risk, as well as the methodology of the nursing care process, which will allow the monitoring of the control of the healthy child, and specialized care in the stages of health - disease to reduce pediatric morbidity and mortality rates, through the management of care emphasizing health policies.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES

To train professionals specialized in pediatric nursing capable of implementing a comprehensive care plan, with knowledge, skills, attitudes and values, with critical, innovative and proactive capacity, which allows them to identify the health needs in the different stages of life of the child to contribute to their growth and development with quality of life, through theoretical, methodological and instrumental knowledge and the teaching-service linkage with the health sector of second and third level of care.
INTEGRAL CARE AND MANAGEMENT OF CHILDREN

Its fundamental axis is to generate knowledge in children's health that contributes to scientific evidence in children's ailments, in the different stages of life, and that strengthens integral care with quality standards in different fields of action.

Basic Academic Core

We have 10 research professors with academic degrees of specialty, master's and doctorate.



  • CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL OF MEXICO DR FEDERICO GOMEZ.
  • Participation of students and teachers as speakers in research events in the area of health at the state level, during the "VIII National Nursing Congress "Nursing Challenges in the face of the COVID-19 Pandemic" held by the Escuela Superior de Tlahuelilpan; and at the national level, in León, Gto. during the "XVII Meeting on Women's Participation in Science".
  • Publication of articles in high impact scientific journals or in proceedings of research events, in which the student of the Pediatric Nursing Specialty is part as author or co-author, as appropriate. As it was through the participation in volume VII "Medicine and Health Sciences" of the "Miscelánea Científica en México".
  • Elaboration of the pharmacology book in the treatment of the newborn. Authors: M.C.E. ROSA MARÍA BALTAZAR TÉLLEZ, M.C.E. ROSA MARÍA GUEVARA CABRERA.
  • Participation of students Anely Martínez Francisco and Karen Mariana Gutiérrez Castillo of the pediatric nursing specialty in the III Graduate Student Meeting held as part of the International Health Fair (FIS) 2018.
  • First generation EEP graduate Marco Antonio Serrano received recognition for high academic achievement at the last graduation ceremony held at the CEUNI Convention Center.
  • Dr. José Arias Rico, professor of the basic core of the pediatric nursing specialty, received recognition for having obtained the Nobi - Norte Monterrey finalist award in the participation of more than 70 national projects, being one of the 24 projects that obtained an award in the validation of patents for the formulation of prickly pear shell as an excipient for drugs and tablets for constipation.
  • Dr. José Arias Rico, Mtra. Rosario Barrera Gálvez, M.C.E. Rocío Belem Mayorga Ponce, MCE Rosa Maria Baltazar Téllez and Dr. Esther Ramírez Moreno made a stay at the Aexa-Aerospace LCC Houston TX. USA NASA.
  • Participation of the MCE Rosa María Baltazar Téllez in the VII meeting of neonatal nursing and I meeting of neonatal specialists at the National Institute of Pediatrics in the presentation of the work "knowledge of the nursing professional in the installation of venous catheters".
