Dr. Guadalupe Espitia Hernández is a member of the Scientific Committee of the federal Ministry of Health (SA), which is in charge of studying and combating the spread of Covid-19. Her contributions to the country's health services include the founding of the Pulmonary Hypertension Clinic at the ISSSTE's Hospital 1° de Octubre, the second most important in the country, where patients are treated under international protocols and certified care processes. He has participated in various international academic forums where he has presented his research advances in pneumology.

Academic and reading promoter, she has contributed to the formation of readers in several generations of university students, thanks to which the habit of reading has spread to their families and society in general. Based on her research and work experience, she has created and coordinated the Prepa 2 Readers Club, "Todos Leemos". She also permanently coordinates various activities to promote reading, such as Literary Talks, Literary Marathons, Tell me a Book, Tell me a Story and Literary Gatherings, as well as the Celebration of the International Book Day, among other strategies to promote reading.
