Based on the work Borges y México by Miguel Capistrán, which bears witness to the links between Mexico and Jorge Luis Borges, as well as his visits to our country in 1973, 1978 and 1981, this exhibition presents a visual chronicle of the Argentine author's stays, with images by Rogelio Cuéllar, Paulina Lavista and Héctor García, as well as a series of drawings by Felipe Ehrenberg.
The visual chronicle alternates with texts by Jorge Luis Borges, including the poem dedicated to Mexico, and commentaries by Juan José Arreola, Octavio Paz, Salvador Elizondo, Carlos Fuentes, José Emilio Pacheco, José de la Colina and Elena Poniatowska, on the author and his work, which will allow visitors to approach the universe of one of the most imaginative and rigorous writers of all times from very different points of view.
In addition to this annotated vision, there is an extensive missive by María Kodama, Jorge Luis Borges' former wife, in which she recounts the pleasure they both took in traveling.
Jorge Luis Borges is one of the most remarkable poets and creators of fantastic literature: perfect pieces in the literary and impossible in the imaginative. A timeless, metaphysical and universal poet; in his stories and essays, in his erudite dissertations, the beauty and harmony of his prose form a precise poetic geometry.
