34th University Book Fair
"Where letters are not blown away by the wind..."
The University Book Fair is one of the most important publishing celebrations in the country. An effort that for 34 years has been promoted by the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de Hidalgo and its Board of Trustees, a space where all the public is welcome.
It also has sub-programs such as: Academic, Artistic, Editorial, Booksellers Meeting, Poetry, Translators; Ilustraful, University Library Conference; FUL Children and FUL Youth, in addition to the activities of the Guest of Honor Country, Colloquium on Sustainable Future, Ceremonies and Recognitions. This is a characteristic that distinguishes it as one of the main fairs, thanks to the versatility and inclusion of the program that year after year integrates the cultural aspect and literature, managing to capture the interest and participation of national and foreign authors, added to a space that allows academic integration with the development of important topics of current interest.
Having a guest of honor country represents one of the most important cultural links in the world, through reading, culture, music and film; the guest of honor country shares its main and most outstanding areas, thus becoming representatives of an exceptional cultural exchange.
Mexico, our country, the world; require a future, as established in the 2030 agenda: imagine that everything works better; it is difficult but not impossible. We must work for a future where the most important thing is living beings, health within everyone's reach, reducing inequality, reducing unemployment to a minimum, public health, a future based on renewable energies, self-sufficiency, quality education, forests and landscapes with water, adequate infrastructure, climate change control, high biodiversity values and food sovereignty.
Conserving biodiversity is a priority and effective to prevent new viruses in the years to come. Protecting the environment is the best vaccine. Let's keep our planet healthy for the health of humanity...
It is a traditional massive event that takes place annually within the framework of the University Book Fair (FUL). It brings together students, the university community and external runners. It offers the opportunity to promote exercise, sports culture, identity, belonging and healthy living. It is the university road race in the country with the largest number of national and international participants.
Establishing a specific focus and space for the professional and specialized field, the University Book Fair integrates the sub-programs: Booksellers' Meeting, Translators, Ilustraful, University Library Conference, which is a characteristic that distinguishes it as one of the main book fairs at national and international level.
With the participation of more than 1,300 national and international publishers and a program of activities based on editorial presentations, conferences of general and specialized interest, the University Book Fair will share its 34th edition in its on-site and virtual modality, where the public will have the opportunity to acquire titles that will be available to them, as well as to meet and interact with their favorite authors.
A space for coexistence and children's participation within the activities of the University Book Fair, whose main objective is to bring children closer to reading and writing through playful activities, where they acquire new experiences that allow them to develop their imagination, creativity, skills, values and attitudes, as well as instill in them a taste for reading and books.
Art will always fill any space with life. Every year the Artistic Forum of the University Book Fair is adorned with the best artists, sharing with the public concerts and shows of dance, music and theater, thus contributing to the promotion of art, culture and reading, with our university community and society in general.
It is a space for young people where children, teenagers and young adults are invited to share their love of reading through various activities that allow them to express their opinions in digital media, expose their works, learn about the publishing world and meet new authors.
Being the students our raison d'être and thinking of expanding the offer of contents for the student population, activities directed to different areas of knowledge are carried out, which are developed in colloquiums, lectures and round tables, bringing together prominent professors, researchers and national and foreign intellectuals to reflect on current events.
One of the fundamental purposes of the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de Hidalgo through the University Book Fair, is to bring the university students, as well as society in general, closer to the work of outstanding personalities and institutions that contribute solidly to the development in all areas of knowledge and progress of our state and country.
