Festival Internacional de la Imagen (International Image Festival)
En el año 2011, la Universidad Autónoma del Estado de Hidalgo con el impulso del Patronato Universitario, organizó por primera vez el encuentro multidisciplinario para promover, difundir y apreciar la creación artística y la comunicación visual en un espacio de reflexión y debate en torno a la estética, los significados y el valor de las imágenes en sus diversos géneros, expresiones y aplicaciones; teniendo como eje temático “Medio Ambiente”.
Desde ese año, en el mes de abril se realiza el único festival multidisciplinario de arte y cultura en el país, abordando temas de relevancia internacional como el del 2011, Migración (2012), Mujeres, derechos y libertades (2013), Infancia (2014), Justicia Social (2015), Educación (2016), Desarrollo Sustentable (2017), Fronteras (2018), Populismo (2019), Agua (2020 y 2021), Cambio Climático (2022), Pueblos Indígenas (2023), Movilidad Sustentable (2024) y Paz Mundial (2025). Además, como parte de la internacionalización del FINI, cada año, se tiene la participación de un país invitado de honor, invitación que ha aceptado Japón, España, Dinamarca, Taiwán, Italia, República Checa, Hungría, Georgia, Alemania, la India y Chile.
