The Universidad Autónoma del Estado de Hidalgo demonstrates its quality and educational competitiveness at a national level through the achievements obtained by its Educational Programs in the High Academic Performance Bachelor's Degree Programs' Register based on the results of the General Bachelor's Degree Graduation Exam (EGEL) offered by the National Evaluation Center for Higher Education (CENEVAL). The Register provides information on the efficiency with which the Educational Programs of public and private Higher Education Institutions operate, strengthening their inter-institutional evaluation or accreditation processes, allowing the comparison of the results achieved with equivalent programs and with other Institutions, as well as contributing to the accountability of society regarding the academic training of students and providing feedback to the institutions on the fulfillment of their mission and vision.
Participating educational programs must consider having at least 10 graduates within a reference period from July 1 of one year to June 30 of the following year. To perform the calculation, CENEVAL created a national indicator, called "Indicator of Academic Performance by Undergraduate Programs" (IDAP), based on an algorithm that uses the proportions of graduates that obtain outstanding, satisfactory or no testimony results at national level and of the program being submitted.
There are two Academic Performance Standards: Standard 1 for HEI programs with approximately 80% or more of their students obtaining Satisfactory or Outstanding Performance Testimonials, and Standard 2, equivalent to approximately 60% to 79.9% of their students obtaining the same performance testimonials in the EGEL.
The UAEH has excelled in this indicator for its excellence, it was the first public institution to have the largest number of Educational Programs in the Register, maintaining excellent results in each of the calls, currently in the fifth corresponding to the 2014-2015 period it is in the first place of public IES along with the Autonomous University of Aguascalientes, Autonomous University of Baja California, and the University of Guadalajara with 22 recognitions.
Throughout all the calls for applications, the institution has accumulated 84 programs in the Register, which places it in second place nationally.
ranking it in second place nationally. The other HEIs in the top 5 are Baja California with 95 awards, Aguascalientes with 71, Yucatan 70 and San Luis Potosi 67.
At the University, the General Directorate of Evaluation is responsible for actions related to the CENEVAL and Institutional General Undergraduate Exit Examination, which guarantees that it is the only institution in the country that applies an EGEL to 100% of its graduates.
