Abstract
The growth of cities is a process of continuous expansion that involves various elements, where land use is the main manifestation of the aptitude of the territory, which is the result of physical, socioeconomic and cultural variables; which, in theory, should lay the foundations for an integral growth of human settlements, both established and projected, favoring a 1951 South Florida Journal of Development, Miami, v.3, n.2. p.1950-1958, Mar./Apr., 2022. ISSN 2675-5459 scenario that allows the social reproduction of its inhabitants beyond their basic needs. In this research, the characteristics and practices of the process of urban conglomerate expansion are analyzed, derived from some considerations in the international sphere from a prospective approach to territorial management.
