Citizens' tools for democracy: participation, civil society and transparency

The book presented here arises from the authors' concern for the construction of a more substantive democracy, not merely formal, which takes into account the citizenry as one of its most important drivers, if not the most important. To this end, we consider that the fundamental axes of this proposal should be based on citizen participation, the formation of a strong civil society and the accountability of public authorities to citizens, with transparency as the basis, although not the only one, of this accountability.
