Abstract
The city of Pachuca is the main urban concentration of immigrant population in the state of Hidalgo. In 2010, 75 thousand people resided in this city, considered absolute immigrants,3 this group of people represents a quarter of the city's total residents. The population growth of the city of Pachuca, since its existence, has been linked to changes and variations in migratory flows. The relationship between immigration and the growth of cities is an old phenomenon, but at the same time it acquires new and differentiated forms, according to conditions of time and space. As stated by Capel, ?immigration has been a permanent feature of cities since the beginning of history. Immigration is consubstantial to the city and has meant a contribution of great value, a factor of economic growth and innovation.
