Abstract

As previously mentioned, the career of social work arose as a way of helping the needy, initially exercised by members of religious orders under the motto of helping the poor and needy, with philanthropy, charity and humanitarianism, shortly thereafter taken up and carried out as a fashion by the ladies of high society also called ladies of charity to carry out altruistic work, In such a way that the career is evolving to such a degree that from the 1920s, it begins to speak of a professional with a methodology of its own work to reach our days with a series of techniques and tools to detect and provide care to the problems of an individual, a group of people and a community; But with a total lack of knowledge of what other functions the social worker performs in the institutions, to such a degree that it has not been recognized in a social and labor way in terms of a better salary and a greater weight in decision making as it has in countries like the United States or Europe where the social worker has an important weight in decision making to such an extent that these can impact on the power to remove a parental authority, guardianship or even to determine the divorce of a couple. Hence, in Mexico, social work does not have the strength it has in other places due to the lack of recognition of the career, which impacts the graduates at the time of performing their work. On the other hand, within the social reality, the graduate faces not only the economic difficulties to finish his academic preparation, but also to position himself as an economically active person, that is to say, the real problem begins when trying to enter as an employee, the little work experience makes it impossible to begin to receive an income and therefore generate seniority and ability in terms of the exercise of his profession as such. Similarly, there are other aspects that have an important impact on the work behavior of professionals, such as the fact of having pursued the career not for pleasure or vocation, but because it represents an option for accreditation of a higher level of studies, which combines external and internal aspects, the latter of which determine that people set objectives The main reasons that make it difficult to obtain employment is the lack of work experience, which does not provide the opportunity to acquire the knowledge to do so. In the same way, the fact that little is known about all the functions of the Social Worker, limits the opportunities to integrate into various fields such as: business, legal and rural. The latter leads to a lack of job offers attractive enough to accept employment. The main reasons for which it is believed that there is a delay in getting a job. It is the lack of work experience which is the main delay in finding a job, also because the functions of social work are little known. Likewise, the delay in finding a job was due to the fact that the job offers they had were not very attractive, or others did not have any job offer at the door, so it was necessary to continue the search. Among the main obstacles faced by the Social Work professional when looking for a job in the labor market is that the lack of work experience is a medium impact limitation, although the institutions themselves do not allow them to obtain experience; there are few who have sufficient knowledge acquired within the educational institution, in addition to the fact that the career is little known, so it is suggested that the educational institutions that have this profession give greater diffusion of the functions of the Social Worker in this way employers will know the activities that the professional performs and may consider him/her for future hiring. In terms of salary, the graduates in the sample who participated in the research mentioned that the salary they receive is between 2000 and 4000 pesos per month, 4001 to 6000 pesos, 6001 to 8000 pesos per month and 12000 pesos per month respectively.
