Abstract
The purpose of this descriptive research is to show the analysis of different techniques, methods and methodologies used in the design of new products in order to present the arguments that a planning model for product innovation should contain. The location of key documents, data collection, content analysis, classification and synthesis of the information were carried out, resulting in a classification of the techniques, methods or methodologies according to different areas of analysis. This classification also indicates the purpose of applying them. The result of the study is the discussion and implications of the techniques, methods and methodologies identified in the literature, emphasizing that in the construction of a product design innovation planning model, the relationship between the different planning levels, such as: normative, strategic, tactical, operational and resource planning, should be made explicit.
Model that identifies process maturity. Case: small manufacturing company
