Strategic plan for the management of hazardous materials. Case study: central laboratory unit

This document represents the key instrument to systematically improve risk mitigation in the handling of hazardous materials in the Central Laboratory Unit (UCL) of the Autonomous University of the State of Hidalgo (Universidad Autónoma del Estado de Hidalgo). By which the reader will find the background of formation of the UCL, the justification of why this plan will be created. As well as the strategies to follow to mitigate the risks of working with hazardous materials, the conclusions and recommendations to carry it out. The contribution of the research is to provide a strategic plan for the management of hazardous materials that allows those responsible for the management of hazardous materials to make the necessary interventions to improve environmental conditions and reduce the operational risks posed by the use of hazardous materials.
