Abstract
This paper characterizes the insertion of women in formal employment in the municipalities of the state of Hidalgo. It is a quantitative study based on data on the employed population aged 12 and over from the 1990 and 2000 population and housing censuses, using the variables of municipality, sector of activity, income and work situation. The study abandons data aggregated at the state level, to characterize insertion with data at the municipal level grouped into six categories
