Granados, J. (2010) THE NEW RESIDENTS OF PACHUCA. UAEH. México.
Abstract
In the last twenty years the city of Pachuca has undergone great transformations in its territory, the rate of population growth has caused the city to expand physically as it had not done in its almost five hundred years of existence. Part of this population growth is due to the immigration processes that have taken place in recent years. Taking into account the trends and experiences of other cities adjacent to the Mexico City Metropolitan Zone, we believe that the current migratory flow will consolidate and intensify in the coming years. Hence, the objective of the present document is to carry out a study on the migratory flows in the urban space of Pachuca, describing the profile of the migrant according to the established flows. The particular objectives of this research will be: to analyze the urbanization process and to know the migratory movements in Mexico. To study the migratory movements to and from the Metropolitan Zones. To examine the urbanization process and migratory movements in the state of Hidalgo. To analyze the types of migrants arriving to the Urban Agglomeration of Pachuca (AUP), as well as to locate the residential spaces where these migrants settle. Finally, to identify the reasons for migrants' change of residence in the AUP.
