Abstract

Traditionally in Mexico, migratory movements to cities are analyzed with census information; however, very few studies have attempted to understand mobility patterns with other sources of information. Approaching the measurement of migration from the perspective of biographical histories provides an opportunity to investigate this event in greater depth. The purpose of this paper is to analyze migration to the city of Pachuca using information from the Biographical Survey of the city of Pachuca (ENBIPA), with the aim of examining the intensity of migration to the city of Pachuca. It also seeks to estimate the socioeconomic determinants of migration to the city of Pachuca.
