Abstract

This paper examines the migration of the Hñähñú people of the Mezquital Valley as a family strategy. The study is of a transversal type, since the phenomenon studied here offers a concrete image in the year 2000. For the analysis, the concept of migration and that of strategy are broken down, the first includes three modalities: international, internal and temporary, which are the possibilities that were captured in the census sample. The second is reduced to certain indicators such as the percentage of households with migrants and the percentage of households with remittances.
