Abstract

This paper analyzes the characteristics of Mexico's rural demographic dynamics, considering the situation of poverty and inequality, as well as some of its links with the environment in terms of the dispersed occupation of rural settlements and their vulnerability to natural phenomena. Finally, some of the strategic areas that support public action aimed at expanding the capabilities of the rural population are identified.
