Vázquez, G. (2011) ANTOLOGY OF DEMOGRAPHY AND POPULATION STUDIES VOLUME I. UAEH, Mexico.
Abstract
The purpose of this work is to introduce the student to the basic concepts and minimum calculations of demography and population studies. The present text condenses five chapters, it begins with the history of population studies, a general but interesting overview of population growth and the avatars from the first man to the present day. Subsequently, the second and third chapters show some basic calculations of demographic analysis, in a didactic way and with very simple examples. The fourth chapter deals with the main calculations of fertility and mortality, a central part of demographic dynamics. Finally, in the fifth and last chapter, reproductive health is approached from local texts, offering a scenario for reflection and analysis.
