Abstract
In the present research work was carried out the evaluation of the anticorrosive efficiency of three different types of primers, inhibitor, cathodic and repassivant applied in the reinforcing steel (AISI 1018) embedded in concrete specimens contaminated since its elaboration with 2 and 4 % of NaCl per weight of cement when exposed to the marine environment of Boca del Rio City, located in the state of Veracruz, Mexico, considered one of the most corrosive environments in Mexico and the world. For the evaluation of corrosion resistance, corrosion potential monitoring was carried out according to ASTM C-876-09 standard, the results obtained after more than 200 days of exposure were analyzed, which showed the benefit of using primers as corrosion protection for the reinforcing steel, presenting a better anticorrosion performance of the inhibitor type primer followed by the cathodic type.
