(2010). Results of the Study of Graduates of the Bachelor's Degree in Social Work. UAEH:Mexico
Abstract
The Autonomous University of the State of Hidalgo has a growing interest in knowing and evaluating the impact and performance of its graduates in the labor field, in order to provide a more adequate response to the changing socioeconomic reality of the State of Hidalgo and the country, and graduate studies are an important input for the improvement and updating of study plans and programs, and for the definition of institutional development policies. For this reason, the Autonomous University of the State of Hidalgo (UAEH) has promoted its implementation since 2003, applying the methodology proposed by the National Association of Universities and Institutions of Higher Education (ANUIES), since its design allows obtaining information on the most relevant variables and indicators of institutional character and thus support decision-making, both for the improvement of educational processes and academic planning as well as for accountability to society. The graduate studies are not only a simple reference of the process of insertion of new professionals in the labor market, which depends not only on their excellent updated training, but also on economic, political and environmental factors beyond the control of the UAEH, nor are they only indicators of graduate satisfaction with the training received. They are also an important input for the diagnosis of the reality with the potential to induce in the UAEH the deep reflection on its purposes and values.
