Abstract


The purpose of this article is to explain the category of gender and its relationship with communication and journalism. Therefore, it first defines what is understood by gender, presents a context of the academic institutionalization of feminism in Mexico and the use of the category gender in the social sciences, and ends with an exposition of the way in which gender, communication and journalism are categories that can be integrated in analysis and even in journalistic conversations.
