Abstract
The Universidad Autónoma del Estado de Hidalgo entered into a process of curricular reform, with the purpose of having its educational programs respond to the approaches and focus of its new educational model, based on a perspective that incorporates competencies, in which traditional teaching and learning methods are replaced by innovative methods. In this sense, the Directorate of Higher Education developed a methodological strategy in the form of a guide that orients the development of the work carried out in each of the degree programs evaluated and redesigned. Among the advantages of this strategy is the integration of institutional commissions made up of experts from different academic areas of this university, so that both the instruments and the redesign documents are the result of a process of discussion and analysis among the different members of the teams, and the redesign was carried out based on the recommendations of external evaluation and accreditation agencies, which, among other things, reduced the hourly load of the Education Sciences program, updated its curricular and training axes and incorporated emerging topics. The conformation of the program, centered on learning, conceives competencies as the pedagogical device, in which it is necessary to address the role of the teacher as a facilitator of learning and in which a close relationship between teacher-student is necessary, and to foster pedagogical relationships between student-student in educational practices and knowledge construction.
