Abstract

Despite the government programs that have been created specifically to improve the education of migrants, the results are poor. For this reason, a set of actions is required to ensure the operation of a quality educational service, based on the development of basic curricular content adapted to the characteristics and needs of the migrant child population, the adjustment of school cycles and periods to the time spent in the places of origin or attraction, the improvement of institutional and social information and management systems for the attention and follow-up of migrant children, teacher training with an intercultural approach and the adaptation of evaluation and accreditation systems to ensure the permanence and continuity of students in any modality of the National Education System. The main objective of this work is to identify the need to address an educational policy for migrant agricultural day laborers. To this end, a review is made of the legal framework, public policies and inter-institutional coordination among the programs aimed at assisting these minors. Finally, a series of recommendations are included to improve their education.
