Abstract

The influence of the crystallinity of the carbon substrate on kinetic parameters was investigated by mean electrochemical techniques such as cyclic voltammetry and chronoamperometry from an electrolytic bath 0.01M ZnSO4 + 1M (NH4)2SO4 onto GCE and HOPG work electrodes. It was found that the predominant redox couple was [ZnSO4(H2O)5]/Zn{degree sign} in our experimental conditions. Furthermore, the electrochemical study indicated the existence of a progressive nucleation mechanism and 3D growth of the zinc electrodeposition. The parameters kinetic, such as nucleation rate and active sites number, showed that the zinc electrodeposition was more favored onto GCE than onto HOPG.
