National Chemistry Olympiad

The thirty-third edition of the National Chemistry Olympiad was held in Pachuca, Hidalgo, on January 19 and 20, 2024, where students Ariadna Sánchez Manzano, Ana Sofía Rossano Suárez and Alfredo Ruiz Muñoz, who are in their sixth and fourth semesters at Escuela Preparatoria Número Uno, stood out.

Subsequently, on February 24, 2024, the Tecnológico de Monterrey organized the International Science Competition, with the participation of more than three thousand high school students from countries such as the United States, Mexico, Guatemala, Ecuador, Colombia and Chile, among others. In this competition, Alfredo Ruiz Muñoz and Ariadna Sánchez Manzano, students from Preparatory School Number One, won fourth and fifth place, respectively.

These achievements were possible thanks to the state-of-the-art laboratories that our high school has, as well as the professionalism and responsibility of our faculty. The active participation of the Science Club, led by Dr. María Concepción Ávila Montiel and Dr. Guadalupe Serna Díaz, Ms. Yazmín Araceli Monroy, and in general, of the academics who belong to the Chemistry Academy, stands out.

On March 14, 2024, the participating and winning students were recognized by the authorities of the Escuela Preparatoria Número Uno, during the ninth edition of the Semana de Vinculación y Extensión.
