"Everything is interaction," wrote Alexander von Humboldt in 1803 during a trip through the Valley of Mexico. And it is precisely on this foundation that the long-standing collaboration between Germany and Mexico is based, which has since been strengthened and diversified to include areas such as economics, cooperation, culture and science.

The Germany-Mexico Dual Year 2016-2017 has been organized by the Federal Republic of Germany, under the direction of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Goethe-Institut and the Association of German Industry (BDI), entities that make up the Steering Committee.

The University Book Fair is undoubtedly the most significant and largest editorial meeting in the State of Hidalgo and the region. It already registers important figures and numbers that place it among the most important in our country.

More decisive for its qualitative growth has been the participation of all those who interact to achieve the virtuous circle of the University Book Fair; authors, publishers, distributors, librarians, readers, designers, illustrators, translators, workshop participants, who for 10 days generate the most successful experience around books and literature.

2016 celebrates the 29th edition of the University Book Fair with education as its central theme.

As part of the celebrations of the Dual Germany in Mexico - Mexico in Germany year, the Federal Republic of Germany will be the guest of honor, and its participation will undoubtedly be significant for its results.

Once again, the Children's Book Fair will be a formidable showcase for children, parents and teachers to share the ideal space with children's publishers, to acquire new literary novelties and a number of works that nurture and encourage literary habits.

The State of Hidalgo and in particular its capital Pachuca will become over 10 days the great venue for the literary festival which will be attended by more than 160,000 people who in addition to attending the University Book Fair at the Carlos Martínez Balmori Sports Center, will have the opportunity to enjoy cultural tourism in the rich offer of Hidalgo, complemented by its great gastronomy and the unparalleled Hidalgo hostess.
