Mexicanidades Descontextualizadas is a journey to our Mexico from the particular vision of the master Ricardo Cruz Fuentes, who, through a deep investigation of our uses and customs, captures in each work the fabulous cultural diversity of our country.
The exhibition is a journey that invites not only to visual delight but also to the knowledge of our tangible and intangible cultural heritage. Cruz Fuentes' color and technique propose to contribute to the rediscovery of Mexicanness through scenarios where representative characters, such as chinas poblanas, catrinas, mazahua dolls, alebrijes, tenangos and many more, coexist in an unusual way with reality outside of any traditional context.
In a deepening of the theme, the artist exhibits his works with explanatory contents linked to QR codes that propose a dynamism in the tour of the exhibition, thus favoring the knowledge of the origin and practices of the characters in question, also supported by the texts of Nohemí López Rivera (Lori) and Rosalba Ríos Solano, who broaden the perception of the exhibition.
Mexicanidades Descontextualizadas is, therefore, a unique experience full of magic, color, humor and entertainment that paradoxically evokes the everyday life of the Mexican, of what is ours and of our identity.
