This academic event is held during the last week of September with the objective of strengthening the educational programs through multidisciplinary work and academic activities such as lectures, workshops, concerts and stage productions to enrich the education of students and promote the development of research projects.
The event includes the Encuentro y Coloquio Espacios de cruce; the Visual Arts Symposium; the Dance Symposium; the Symposium La Música en Latinoamérica, and the Encuentro Internacional para la Interpretación Musical.

International Symposium of Visual Arts
Since 2006, the Academic Area of Visual Arts has held this activity annually at the Institute of Arts, which brings together highly qualified voices in the field of artistic production and research at the national and international level.

Pedro Valtierra Heritage Chair

The Pedro Valtierra Heritage Chair is held annually during the first semester of the year and is conceived as a forum for discussion and reflection on visual images in order to create links between university students and professionals in the field, so as to consolidate a space for analysis and dissemination of the photographic environment.
The main utility of this academic activity is based on the exchange of perspectives (technical, thematic, ideological, disciplinary) among students, teachers and professionals of the image, which contribute to the development of research and dissemination of photography within the degree in Visual Arts and even other academic areas within and outside the UAEH.

Music in Latin AmericaSymposium
International Meeting for Musical Interpretation

The study of the development of music in our country and in Latin America is a fascinating field that has not been fully exploited by researchers. For this reason, the Academic Body of Music of the Institute of Arts of the Autonomous University of the State of Hidalgo cultivates a line of research called "Rescue, creation and dissemination of musical works".
Among the research and dissemination activities of this line, the Academic Body of Music organizes annually the Symposium Music in Latin America with the purpose of generating spaces where the development of music not only in our country but also in Latin America and its situation in our days are made known and discussed.
In addition to this, the Academic Body of Music organizes the International Meeting for Music Performance where the invited teachers share their experiences in master classes with the students attending.
The main objective of these activities is that students become interested in musical research and acquire much more knowledge in the execution and practice of their instruments, since this will make the new generations of professionals more capable and able to face the new challenges of the century.

Dance Symposium

A space dedicated to the exchange of knowledge related to the discipline of dance, its emission is annual, the event features lectures and master classes, presentations, discussions, round tables and workshops, attended by guests with great national and international trajectory.

Scenic creation projects

Annually, the BA in Dance presents a multidisciplinary scenic creation project in which 100% of students and teachers participate, in order to provide society with a scenic proposal that articulates the technical and interpretative academic work and the research processes that support it. Its premiere will take place in December at the Gota de Plata Auditorium.

Academic Exhibitions.

The Academic Shows are activities that are open to the public with an exclusively academic character where a sample class of the different Folklore, Contemporary and Ballet techniques is presented, which helps to understand the formative work of a professional dancer. This activity takes place every six months and is presented in spaces outside the IA facilities. They also constitute an excellent mechanism to disseminate the Bachelor's Degree among society.

Meeting and Colloquium "Espacios de cruce" (Crossing Spaces).

The colloquium "Espacios de cruce" arose from the need to rethink research, production and teaching practices in the performing arts with national and foreign academic peers. Participation in the colloquium is based on a call for papers with four discussion tables. The proposals are analyzed and the most relevant papers are selected for the theme of the table and the colloquium.
