DISCIPLINARY BACKGROUND


Why study the Master's Degree in Mexican Cultural Heritage?


Mexico is one of the countries with the greatest wealth of tangible and intangible cultural heritage in the world, but unfortunately negligence, ignorance and neglect have caused it to be lost more and more rapidly. On the other hand, cultural services have expanded and diversified in recent years in Mexico, making it necessary to professionalize these services to achieve the understanding, promotion, management, protection, conservation and dissemination of tangible and intangible cultural property.

The Master's Degree in Cultural Heritage of Mexico is unique in its kind at the national level, as it combines art and culture with a multidisciplinary approach.


To train Masters in Mexican Cultural Heritage with a solid academic specialization, committed to the multidisciplinary field of Cultural Heritage.
In the year 2023, the Master's Degree in Cultural Heritage of Mexico is a program of academic excellence recognized for its graduates with ethical principles and a solid multidisciplinary background.
Objectives

General Objective

  • This postgraduate program offers the knowledge and provides the necessary elements to develop intervention projects aimed at the understanding, promotion, management, protection, conservation and dissemination of Mexico's cultural heritage.

Specific Objective

  • Development of professionals with theoretical and methodological, historical and anthropological, administrative, legal and cultural tourism knowledge, in order to understand, manage and link cultural heritage with businesses and cultural industries, as a sustainable resource.

The Line of Generation and Application of Knowledge is Cultural Heritage of Mexico, and is linked to the disciplinary areas of Cultural Heritage from pre-Hispanic times to the 20th century, theoretical aspects, legal framework, management, administration and tourism, related to Cultural Heritage.
