If you are interested in studying the Bachelor's Degree in Music, you must take and pass the propaedeutic course that lasts 1 year (2 semesters). You can join if you have previous musical knowledge and regardless of your age. If you have already studied music in public or private institutions with official recognition, you can take the skills exam to enter directly into the degree program.

Students who enter the Bachelor's Degree in Music have basic knowledge to play an instrument, including its elementary playing technique and a repertoire with an initial degree of difficulty. They also handle elementary concepts of music theory and notation, have skills to interpret musical works with an initial degree of difficulty, read and sing tonal melodies of basic complexity and have physical and intellectual skills necessary for the study of music and specifically the chosen instrument. 

Upon graduation from the Bachelor's Degree in Music at the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de Hidalgo:

• You will play an instrument individually or in an instrumental or choral ensemble and you will learn repertoire from various historical periods.
• You will learn to read, memorize and transcribe music from different sound sources, and to recognize aurally diverse musical styles and forms.
• You will apply music theory to both analysis and performance by playing your instrument. 
• You will use avant-garde and self-created methods to implement them in various educational projects in schools.
