DOCTORATE IN SOCIAL SCIENCES
BACKGROUND
The Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities of the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de Hidalgo presents the proposal for the creation of the Graduate Program in Social Sciences as a new integrating educational offer of the Institute. This program is supported by five of its Academic Areas: Educational Sciences, Sociology and Demography, History and Anthropology, Political Sciences and Communication Sciences, who jointly participate in its development.
The present document proposes a Postgraduate Program in Social Sciences that includes the Master's and Doctorate degrees in Social Sciences. The proposal responds to the demand for researchers to study the diverse social problems of the region and considers the development of graduate programs at the national and international level as well as the growth project of the UAEH graduate program. On the other hand, the graduate program presented in this document considers the current situation of the Social Sciences, seeking to combine a global understanding of the problems of society and contemporary thought with an advanced specialization in an area of the social sciences, thus avoiding the disciplinary isolation of specialists and encouraging interdisciplinarity.
