Department of History and Anthropology
The Academic Area of History and Anthropology (AAHA) has its origins in 1985, when the Center for Research on the State of Hidalgo (CIEH) was created. The axes on which its establishment revolved were to promote historical and anthropological research in the state of Hidalgo. In July 2001, the University Council approved the creation of the Academic Area of History and Anthropology, which assumed the foundations of the CIEH: strengthening research and training of human resources dedicated to historical and anthropological study.
The Academic Area of History and Anthropology has 14 PTC's, integrated in the Consolidated Academic Body "Historical and Anthropological Studies" and in the Research Group "Social and Cultural Studies".
Research Group "Social and Cultural Studies". In addition, three educational programs are included in the Academic Area: Bachelor's Degree in Mexican History, Bachelor's Degree in Social Anthropology and Master's Degree in History. The academic support of the AAHA to these programs is in the context of the need to promote the culture of humanities within the Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities.
