Semblanza

Born August 22, 1965 in Mexico City. He studied Mining and Metallurgical Engineering at the Universidad Autónoma de Hidalgo (1986-1990), a Master's degree in Non-Ferrous Metallurgy with specialization in Foundry at the Centro de Investigación y de Estudios Avanzados del I.P.N. Unidad Saltillo (1991-1884) and a PhD in Metallic Materials Science at the Metallurgical Engineering Department of the Chemistry Faculty of the University of Barcelona (1995-1998). Since March 1994 he has been a Research Professor at the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de Hidalgo.

Among other functions and activities, the following stand out:
Member of the National System of Researchers since 1999, currently Level 1 (2021-2024).
Desirable PRODEP profile since 2000 and currently appointed until 2024.
Founder and Director of the Materials and Metallurgy Research Center of the UAEH (1999-2005).
Founder and Coordinator of the PhD program in Materials Science (2003-2005).
Coordinator of the Iberoamerican Network of Extractive Metallurgy, formed by UAEH, University of Barcelona, Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo, Universidad Complutense de Madrid, CINVESTAV-Saltillo (2008-2010)
Leader of the Academic Body of Metallurgy (2008-2013)
Leader of the Academic Body of Earth Sciences (2014).
Founder and member of the Advanced Materials Academic Group (2017 to date).
Academic and Scientific Production.
Publication of about 68 indexed scientific articles and JCR.
Publication of 12 book chapters and 3 books. Participation in different national and international congresses.
Responsible for 13 concluded research projects and responsible for 3 more in progress.
Director of 14 completed bachelor's theses, 3 completed master's theses and 8 completed doctoral theses.
