Veterinary Zootechnician (FES-C-UNAM), he completed his Master's and PhD studies in Cell Biology at CINVESTAV-IPN. He worked as a professor at the Facultad de Estudios Superiores Cuautitlán and at the Facultad de Medicina Veterinaria y Zootecnia, both at UNAM, from 1986 to 2004, when he joined the Academic Area of Veterinary Medicine and Zootechnics of the Instituto de Ciencias Agropecuarias of the UAEH, where he is currently working.

In addition to his teaching work in Cytology, Histology and Embryology, Anatomy, Biochemistry, Cellular and Molecular Biology and Veterinary Physiology in the 2003 Plan, currently in the 2014 Plan he teaches Morphological Foundations of Domestic Animals.

At the ICAp he was Head of the Academic Area of MVZ from 2007 to 2009 and Secretary from 2009 to 2010. He was also University Counselor from 2007 to 2010. He is currently a member of the H. Technical Council of ICAp.

He was also President of the Mexican Society of Histology from 2015 to 2016. In the research part he has directed or co-directed 15 theses.
