The Biotherium of the Autonomous University of the State of Hidalgo is the area authorized for the production, care and use of laboratory animals in order to support the development of research and teaching.
We comply with the ethical principles established in the Institutional Ethics Committee for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals (CICUAL) of the UAEH, as well as the requirements of the NOM-062-ZOO-1999, SADER "Technical Specifications for the Production, Care and Use of Laboratory Animals" (verified and regulated every year by the institution) as well as the Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals - National Research Council.
Supported by a documented system, which includes quality programs and internal control for compliance with duly approved operating procedures for all activities carried out in the Biotherium, which is a powerful tool to ensure reliable and safe results in production, research and teaching, permanently applying the principle of the 3 R's (Reduction, Refinement and Replacement).
Nowadays, given the ethical and productive implications of scientific and academic research, which are linked to the health of humans and animals themselves, as well as the characteristics of Biomodels, a good care, management and use of them is required as a total guarantee of national and international standards impacting on the results of work so that they are of the highest level and reliability.
The Biotherium of the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de Hidalgo supports in a specialized and professional manner 365 days a year, the development of research and teaching, as well as the skills and competencies required by our educational programs in this area. Not only committed to raise the prestige of our highest house of studies, but also with society, quality, bioethics and environment.
